In his earlier days, Mr. Asher was a producer and director, working on some two dozen movies and television shows. He directed “Bewitched” alongside his wife Elizabeth Montgomery, and he was responsible for the series “I Love Lucy” as well as more than 100 episodes of “Crazy.” Asher was 90 years old when he died from complications of Alzheimer’s disease.

During the 1950s, Asher worked at Universal Studios as an assistant cameraman and editor. He co-produced and directed the low-budget boxing melodrama Leather Gloves, starring Cameron Mitchell and Richard Quine. However, his heart was in television, and he directed several episodes of Big Town and Racket Squad, as well as episodes of I Love Lucy.
